Meg Rosenthaland her teenage daughter Sally move to Acadia Falls in upstate New York following the death of their husband and father, where Meg has accepted a teaching position at a boarding school, but things get off to a bad start when one of Meg's folklore students plunges to her death during the First Night bonfire, and she must figure out what is going on as she feels danger moving in on Sally.
