Charlie Parker, forced to give up his private investigator's license, takes a job in a Portland bar and begins to examine his own past and the events surrounding his father's suicide.

Charlie Parker is called to investigate when the members of a smuggling ring begin dying in apparent suicides and he must outwit the reclusive Herod and his shadowy sidekick, who will stop at nothing to get their hands on an ancient artifact that is bringing evil forces to the region.
