Donations to the Friends of Milton Public Library supplement the library’s budget, enabling us to provide additional resources and programs to the community.
Milton Public Library greatly values the financial support of donors. Contributions by cash or check are given to the Friends of Milton Public Library, the nonprofit fundraising and volunteer group that supports the library. Please make checks payable to Friends of Milton Public Library. All donations are tax deductible, to the extent of the law.
“The Giving Tree” is one way in which the library shows appreciation for donations. For gifts of $100 – $249, donors may have a personal or business name inscribed on a small leaf. For gifts of $250 or more, donors may have a name inscribed on a large leaf. Please contact the library for more information.
Milton Public Library appreciates the donation of books, audiobooks, and DVDs in excellent condition.
Donations are accepted with the understanding that the material will be added to the library collection only if needed. If the item(s) is/are not added to the collection, the library has the right to disposal, and may sell, give away, or discard the item(s) at its discretion.
Because of limited space, the library is only able to accept ONE bag or small box of up to 20 items at a time. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of library staff. We cannot accept:
- Reader’s Digest books.
- VHS tapes.
- Cassette tapes.
- Material withdrawn from other libraries.
- Material that is mildewed, yellow, has a noticeable odor, or is in otherwise poor condition.
Library staff reserve the right to refuse donations at any time.
