A Universe of Stories Reading Bingo for Adults
For enrolling, and then for each summer reading Bingo card completed 6/1 – 8/31, adults are entered into a drawing for a monthly prize. June’s prize is a $25 gift card. July’s prize is a $50 gift certificate to Blue Paddle Bistro in South Hero. August’s prize is a gift certificate for two for a gourmet three-course meal on the Champlain Valley Dinner Train. Prizes are generously provided by the Friends of Milton Public Library.

Fourth of July Parade
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday 7/4.
Join Millie the Bookmobile in Milton’s July 4th Parade. All ages, kids 11 an under with an adult. Registration required. Call the library at 802-893-4644.
Friends of Milton Public Library Ice Cream Social
7 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday 7/23. Purchase some ice cream by donation while enjoying the Milton Community Band Pop’s Concert at the band shell in Bombardier Park West. Admission is free. Donations benefit Milton Public Library.
The Big Blue Trunk and Milton Community Band End of Summer Celebration
6 – 8:15 p.m. Tuesday 8/13 for all ages. Enjoy interactive activities provided by The Big Blue Trunk and the Milton Community Band’s End of Summer concert at the band shell area in Bombardier Park West.

Improving Work and Personal Relationships through Emotional Intelligence

Alzheimer’s Association Vermont Chapter Educational Series
Registration required for each session.
1 – Effective Communication Strategies
6:30 – 7:45 p.m. Tuesday 6/25. Explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s, learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. 2 – Understanding and Responding to Dementia Related Behavior
6:30 – 7:45 p.m. Tuesday 7/23. Learn to decode behavioral message, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challengers of Alzheimer’s disease. Registration required. Call the library at 802-893-4644.
3 – Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body
6:30 – 7:45 p.m. Tuesday 8/27. Learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement, and then the hands-on tools to help incorporate these into a plan for healthy aging. Registration required. Call the library at 802-893-4644.
DNA Testing Kits Information Workshop
6:30 – 7:45 p.m. Tuesday 7/9. Ed Maguire from the Vermont Genealogy Library will discuss the types of DNA tests available, the top companies in the field, costs, services and information received, and privacy and ethics implications. Registration required. Call the library at 802-893-4644.
Medicare Made Clear
